Aunt Pat gave him a really nifty "Cars" lawn chair with Lightning McQueen on it. He insists on setting it up in the living room at home and he likes to carry it around the house in the case that it came in. Little boys are so funny!
Jake's cousin, Emma is showing him how to work the train that is set up under the tree.

Jake at Christmas

Here he is, barely tolerating getting his photo taken. He really wanted to just get down to playing with that car on the floor.

The Big Red Car Halloween Costume

Here's Jake in his Halloween costume. He is Jeff from the Wiggles, and was VERY excited about his Big Red Car costume. It took him a little while to warm up to it, but once he did--he was very into it.
When he discovered you can knock on doors and they'll give you candy, then it was "game on". Now he thinks all candy is called "Trick Or Treat". When he asks for something sweet, he asks for a "trick or treat". I don't have the heart to tell him that's not what they're called...
That's our friend Veronica on the left. She was so patient and tolerated Jake's slow pace...thanks Veronica!

Christmas 2008

The Wiggles Concert

There is a reason why The Wiggles concert was the #4 Top Grossing Concert Tour of 2008. How can anyone NOT take their little Wiggles fan to see them in person? His Grandma Dottie bought him this "Big Red Car" t-shirt and for the first few days he carried it around with him just like a blankie. At one point I had to let him take a bath with it! At least now he's down to just wanting to wear it every single day...

My biggie boy! Jake's curls were truly out of control so I took him for a trim this past weekend. I told the lady to take his curly locks down about 1/2 the length. She ended up giving him a big-boy haircut! I don't think I was ready for it yet, but everyone tells me it's adorable.
It took me awhile to get used to it! But it suits him well. And his curls are already growing back in.
He is completely into The Wiggles and their Big Red Car. He's starting to say words and definitely understands A LOT more than he's able to communicate. He has us laughing all the time! He goes to "school" a few days a week and gets excited when he sees we're pulling into the parking lot to drop him off. He is clearly very happy to be there and that's a good thing.
Life is good!
